Koena initially gained prominence by winning Gladrags magazine?s ?Mega Model Contest? in 2002. Mitra?s first break was an item song in Ram Gopal Verma?s Road (?Khullam Khulla?). She also appeared in a Tamil film ?Dhool? with actor Vikram in the title song.
