Velu Prabakaran’s Kathal Kathai is about a controversial subject and the heroine of the movie appears in many scenes without top dress. The film started shooting nearly 4 years ago with a new face actress Sherly Dass playing the female lead role. Velu himself appeared in the film as Periyar E.V.Ramasamy in a few scenes. Shirley appeared completely nude in 5 scenes in the film.
There was a ban imposed on the movie last year for the explicit sexual content. Velu Prabhakaran has now made changes in the film and submitted again to the censor board with the movie renamed as Kadhal Kadhai. Now the Censor Board has given an A Certificate for the movie Kathal Kadai.
