Having born in an affluent family of Paul Heigl, a financial executive/accountant, and Nancy, a personal manager, a family of German and Irish ancestry she was brough up in a strcit manner. Even she was raised as the member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon).
It was at the age of nine when she starte her career and through sending her photographs she was at last selected as a child model. It was through this process she was introduced for the first time in the industry of enertainment. It was then followed by television jobs, the first being the TV serial Cheerios.
But it was in the year 1992 when her acting debut came to the fore through hr performance in the 1992 movie That Night. She slao appeared as Christina Sebastian in the Depression-era drama of Steven Spilberg, King of the Hill. She has also appeared against steven sagal as sarahin the action thriller Under Siege-2: Dark Territory in 1995. Again in the year 1999, Heigl directed her attention to television when she accepted the role of Isabel Evans on a TV drama based on science fiction, Roswell.
The role played by her was of a unique type as it was expanded in the second and third seasons of the very show. However it was in 2005,when it is said that she got her most high-profile role as an intern in Grey's Anatomy, of Dr. Isobel "Izzie" Stevens. It was a medical drama of the ABC.
There is a record that till now she has portrayed three characters named on some variation of the name "Isabel." Even in the year 2007 she has been nominated for twice on the behalf of FHM as "100 Sexiest Women in the World."
