Katie Holmes

/ On : 4:52 PM/ Thank you for visiting my small blog here. If you wanted to discuss or have the question around this article, please contact me e-mail at herdiansyah hamzah@yahoo.com.
The youngest in the Holmes family, Katie was born two months premature. This, her parents Martin and Kathleen believe, is the secret behind her strong-willed personality. We found evidence of it when Katie declined to attend the audition in Hollywood for the television drama Dawson’s Creek as her callback clashed with her school musical at Notre Dame Academy, an all-girl Catholic institution in Toledo. However, as luck would have it, she was still chosen for the role of Joey Potter and the rest, as we all know, was history.

Although Katie Holmes had her baptism in films with a small role in The Ice Storm (1997), she became a household name only with Dawson’s Creek (1998). Gradually, she devoted herself to films and developed into an actress with remarkable intelligence and ability. Her films included Disturbing Behavior (1998), Teaching Mrs. Tingle (1999), Go (1999), The Gift (2000), Abandon (2002), Phone Booth (2003), First Daughter (2004), and Batman Begins (2005).

An admirer of Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan, and Jodie Foster, Katie’s first love was Dawson’s Creek co-star Joshua Jackson, who remains her great friend even today. She got engaged to actor Chris Klein in December 2003 and lived together for some time. The big moment came in her life when she married Tom Cruise on November 18, 2006, in a star-studded ceremony at the Odescalchi Castle in Lake Bracciano, Italy. They were blessed with a daughter on April 18, 2006 and named her Suri. Katie is also stepmother of Tom Cruise’s children Isabella and Connor.

A close friend of Victoria Beckham, she still keeps in touch with many of her high school friends. At present, she is basking in the glory of motherhood. The experience brought her closer to other women, she recently said. Katie’s favorite film is My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997) and if she gets an opportunity, she would like to work with directors like Oliver Stone, Ron Howard and Woody Allen.
