The ad-beauty caught the eye of producer Aditya Chopra who signed Kim Sharma for his mega-budget Mohabbatein with Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai on the cast roll. Kim Sharma got a cameo role, but she acted powerfully. The huge box office collection of the film helped Kim Sharma to get opening in other films. She was nominated for Best Newcomer by International Indian Film Academy for the film.
Instead of having an upward journey, Kim Sharma rolled down the popularity chart with too many flops written by her name. She was cast in supporting roles in two low-budget films Tumse Achcha Kaun Hai and Kehta Hai Dil Baar Baar in 2002. But both collapsed. Nehelle Pe Dehella (2007) is a comedy with Sanjay Dutt in the lead role. Here Kim Sharma played the role of Bipasha Basu’s friend, a very minor role. With every year passing, Kim Sharma is slowly moving into oblivion. Her acting talent is not yet tasted and appreciated too.
