She got her first big break in 1993, when she was selected by director Neil Jordan for the role of Claudia, the child vampire in his 1994 adaptation of Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire. The subsequent success in Little Women established her as the top child artiste of her times. Dunst continued to create waves with her sterling performance in a lead role in the Robin Williams action-fantasy Jumanji (1995).

In 1999, she grew up enough to be cast in the role of a young woman. The Virgin Suicide (1999) won her rave reviews in which she played a conflicted, headstrong teenager. She also earned appreciation playing a grown woman for the first time in The Cat's Meow.

She, however, became famous as Mary Jane in a series of major Spider-Man films, opposite Tobey Maguire which proved to be major box-office hits. In 2001 she made her singing debut with the song "Dream Of Me" from Get Over It and took her singing career ahead with another song in The Cat's Meow.

Dunst is now working on her own production company called "Wooden Spoon Productions". Her favorite show is "Friends" (1994), while her favorite films are Annie Hall (1977) and Edward Scissorhands (1990). She is enjoying every bit of her busy life these days and is in no mood to slacken her pace following suggestions from her friends.
