Leonard Cohen Drawing

/ On : 11:36 AM/ Thank you for visiting my small blog here. If you wanted to discuss or have the question around this article, please contact me e-mail at herdiansyah hamzah@yahoo.com.
I said a little while back that I was going to start posting any pictures I draw on here, so here's to actually doing things that I say I will (for once).

I think I also said I would say what I thought of the pictures as well? I probably didn't say that, but I am going to anyway...

As is pretty much customary for me to point out with every single drawing I do and upload somewhere on line, as if it somehow makes the picture more substantial or less flawed; the picture doesn't quite look as good as the actual piece.

This has actually been quite a quick and fairly enjoyable picture to draw. I started it yesterday afternoon and finished it a couple of hours ago, with obvious starting and stopping. I'd probably estimate at it taking maybe three hours all in all.

I'm actually really quite happy with this. I'm actually quite proud of it; and I think I have definitely done the jacket and his face a fair amount of justice. Obviously, there are a few fairly noteable flaws; like the background being just poorly shaded (which isn't so obvious when not in the scan) and a couple of bits on the guitar neck and that.

"Why Leonard Cohen?" You ask. Well it's basically a 50th birthday present for my Dad. I got a nice frame and that.

Sorry for the poor picture, but it's bad light quality combined with it being a mobile phone camera. (So much classic my stuff in this picture; didn't even realise - bottom middle, going clockwise: Staedtler pencil, .46 guitar pick for acoustic, green iPod with 'quincie' in dymo, eyeliner pencil, yellow card, red crayon, the handle of my jar glass, egg cup with water for paint in, budweiser bottle).

Oh yeah, and now I've wrapped it up. Good times.

If you're interested in looking at more of my drawings and other stuff, you'd best mosey on over to my DeviantART profile.
