I am kind of over the whole Will it blend thing because pretty much everything does. My question is what kind of drink are you blending that requires a blender strong enough to be able to blend an iPad?
Anyone own one of these blenders? I find it hard to justify spending $400 on one.

Here is another way of stopping the whine (for a short time):
TURN ON BLUETOOTH and use a mouse!
At the office i work with a bluetooth mouse and keyboard.
When using a mouse it stops permanent.
At home i work without it and turn normaly bluetooth off.
Now i descovered that when i turn on bluetooth the whine stops ...
But when not using a bluetooth device it comes back after some time.
Getting stranger every minute ....
Actually this used to be a macbook pro problem only.
After the efi firmware update it seems to spread to the macbooks (white, 1.83 here)

A muslim state is what israel would become if all the palestinians were given citizenship, and that simply can't happen, it would be very dangerous. I do know what i'm defending, the right for israel not to become an arab country. You can say the jewish majority there is artificial, but so was the christian population in north america a couple hundred years ago, they also brought boat loads of settlers from around the world, look how that turned out.
It can certainly be a secular democracy, where the Muslims, Christians (yes there are Christian Palestinians as well) and Jews live together. it doesn't necessarily have to be a Muslim state. But again that is beside the point. They could be Christians or athiests or secularists as well, but the ideology behind Israel simply won't allow the majority population to not be Jewish. I'm not sure if you're defending that ideology.

Unless you are suggesting something has changed in the last two years what has the date of the article got to do with it,if it has changed please supply a source(no your relatives won't do).If you insist on presenting your personal prejudices as fact this discussion will go nowhere.I'm still waiting for a source for the 800000 people who can work but don't by the way.
Okay, the article I read a while ago. But here it is: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/conservative/2176336/Incapacity-benefit-claimed-by-more-than-800000.html
The don't want to work, but can work, went a little far, but please read, it's interesting. I was getting more to the point of welfare dependancy. Anyhow, it's best I don't reply, I havent' slept since my night shift, around 27 hours now. So best not for me to try and debate things. On that note, sleep time. Zz

The laptop would have wireless in it. Why not make simple wireless connectivity to have a constant connection with the keyboard when detached?
If you are going to use BT for the keyboard, why don't you just make all these peripherials BT?
A BT mixer. A BT tactile volume control. It would be impossible to have this and keep a portable semi-rugged laptop that isn't the size of a tank. Yet, its useless. You might as well do the same thing with BT instead of wasting all that money on an interface that is clunky.
Definitely NOT smart.
Think about it a BT espresso machine.

I find it really strange that everyone seems to agree that Muslim women that wear the veil have been either beaten into submission by their rapist husbands (which apparently all Muslim men are) or brain washed by radical Imams.
I've met a number of Muslim women (usually young, single, college students) that have been very independent, intelligent and able to articulate their reasons for wearing a veil Usually they see it as rejecting society's objectification of a woman's body. You can disagree, but I don't know why you'd want to take away their right to express themselves.
France's law is discriminatory unless it applies to any garb on either gender that covers the face. Another thing that's really weird is how fast Americans seem to be willing to throw out constitutional rights in order to prove some poorly formed political point about Islam. Yeah! Let's show those Muslims how free America is by . . . taking away their rights . . . yeah . . .

Combine this with 3D glasses technology, and you will have everything to simulate real life 3D: seeing an object from two different angles at once + being able to change your viewing angle by just moving your head! This will probably look very cool but I think this head tracking 3D stuff is enough for most things now.
Alternatively, you could just look at real stuff.
Assuming you have 2 functioning eyes, of course. Condolences to those without.

It should work, but it won't be pretty.. I have the same MBP and I'm gonna take the chance - if it doesn't work well I'll let you know :-)
I know it will not work on high definition not even medium, but if in low it runs smoothly thats fine for me.

Check out the inventory tracker in MR iPad forum for Best Buy, Target, etc.
I placed my order online at the Apple Store and have been waiting patiently for a April 20 delivery. Yesterday I checked the inventory tracker and it turned out my local Best Buy had stock on the 16GB WiFi black, just as I ordered it from Apple. Literally 15 minutes later I was up and running with my new gear & cancelled my Apple store order. No waiting in line or wasting any more time with the whole process. Why wait if you can grab it locally?

Oh please. word opens in like less than a second and I only have a core duo and 1.5gbs of ram.
A second? Are you sure it's not faster? Because it goes that fast for me and Im on an old G4 iMac....oh wait. This is rosetta we're talking about. Even still, I'd imagine it's MUCH faster for you guys with your Intel iMacs, even if rosetta is a factor.

Apple is unlikely to buy Netflix. Some of Netflix's contracts with media companies likely include a termination clause that can be invoked when the company is bought. That's likely why Apple had to shut down Lala after they bought it.

These articles about market share all the time are becoming so boring...
Here's another (http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2011/apr/18/smartphone-market-android-win-nokia-rim-lose).
Outside the US, iOS is bleeding bad.

As has been written a dozen plus times in this thread (including by Halebopp himself): Apple Stores have several units, in every configuration, on-site, that are not for sale but reserved specifically for returns/exchanges.
True story.
That makes sense from a customer service standpoint. It would be really bad for somebody to wait in line for hours, get a defective unit and then get told to come back tomorrow. Honestly, I figured that Apple would sell them as fast as they could to capitalize on the demand -- apparently they have not forgotten customer service is important -- too bad some of these units passed quality inspection though.
I gave my apologizes to Halebopp in another post. I'm glad to hear his 4th iPad 2 is perfect. Personally, I have never owned a perfect LCD, but some of those posts on that forum look like people being a bit knit-picky (meaning they have normal backlight leakage and are only noticing it because somebody else said they had a real problem). Other photos in there do look horrible for backlight leakage.
I suppose sometimes I can be a bit presumptuous. I'll try to watch that in the future.

This is excellent news! I was so disappointed when I read the reports earlier. I like Justin Long a lot and I feel he fits the 'Mac' part very well. I can't wait to see the new holiday ads he was talking about. :D

Only question. Why?
Some say Apple need to buy Netflix. Have those of you even considered what Netflix charges for monthly streaming?
$8
Apple will never let customers eat that much for so little. The day Apple buys Netflix, DVDs would stop, and streaming would go up to $30 a month.
Promised.
Apple could if they had the massive volume and pricing Netflix has negotiated to get it that low. Netflix in my opinion is already a monopoly, pretty much the only reasonably priced and silly easy to access source (through all five of my devices) for streaming video.

I can attest that I've been through three iPad2's before getting one that didn't have a light leak. And I'm not talking about a small nit or a slight systemic imperfection with uniform light leakage all around - the light leaks were all significant and notable, about the size of a quarter. And were so bad that they weren't even contested by the store staff.
So my fourth iPad2 is perfect. A linemate's iPad that he opened in the store was perfect; the family next to me however did have a small light leak.
Generally speaking, every light leak I saw was ugly and notable. This wasn't that slight "bleed" that you can just accept as part of an LCD. These were all ugly, large yellowish-white blemishes leaking out.
My White 16 Wifi has the leak...noticed it first thing after opening. *No argument there...
I just question when people are total naysayers...who also happen to own everything all the time. Glad you got yours fixed! I just bought another on line...and will be Sans-iPad2 for 2 weeks (once I return this one to Walmart)

We don't need more "options."
That would be dumbing down.
The smart thing to do is weigh your options. We weigh our options with everything in life. Life the toilet seat or leave it down, what to eat for dinner, what to post on MR, why not have an option as to which $500 dollar phone + $100+ dollar a month plan I want, and the option to use it as I please?

That's true, but my dad had an old broken laptop with a magnesium frame. Just for fun he decided to try to light it on fire. I didn't think it would work, because I assumed the frame was probably some alloy including magnesium and besides magnesium doesn't burn easily unless it's in small pieces. Well, it took him a fair bit of effort with a propane torch, but he did succeed in lighting it and it burned VERY brightly, just like a firework.
Yes, magnesium is definitely sweeeeeeeeeeet!
