Does anybody know if BestBuy will be able to process orders on lines with a FAN number attached to the account?
Yes, BestBuy has the capability of adding lines, and modifying accounts that have existing foundation accounts attached to them. They just do not have the ability to add new foundation accounts to your account. Does that answer your question?

I am honestly not fussed about this.
I would much rather have a physical apple branded itunes server for my house to fit in with my personal eco-system. I just cannot see myself using this - especially with the inevitable restrictions that will come with music I have ripped from my purchased CD's.

LOL...really macrumors?! Are you guys that poor at comprehension?!?! I think a 5 year old could tell you they mean network traffic!
I sincerely hope this is just a ploy at generating news, otherwise someone seriously needs to return to primary school.
Sometimes it's funny when people are doing things they accuse others of doing. Other times, it's sad. This is one of those times.

I'm blind in my right eye, and this will allow for me to experience 3D for the first time. Existing methods require binocular vision but this works for me, and I was pretty darned convinced. I don't see how you guys can expect better than this, seriously!

You know, all I personally want is to see Apple fitting a Merom inside a MacBook (non-pro, yes)... I mean, why shouldn't they do that?
Sure, back in the PowerPC days, the differentiation made by Apple between their consumer and professional lines was based both on features AND processors... In a way, it made some sense, as the supply of PowerPC chips was sometimes constrained... Since the G3, G4 and G5 families were alternately produced by IBM and Moto-Freescale, that was less of a problem, as the consumer line would never cannibalize supply for the professional line and vice-versa. I know I'm speculating here, but it sure makes some sense.
Anyway... This worked fine back when Apple was, platform-wise, isolated from the rest of the other computer manufacturers. Now they can't afford to lose customers to other brands, and let's face it: if the Core 2 Duo processors will, as it appears, cost the same as their Core Duo counterparts did when they were launched, why shouldn't Apple slap them across the board? They could always deplete their stock of Core Duo processors on their Mac mini line, while lowering them to their original $499 and $599 pricetags...
Just my 0,02... It's true, I'll have to get my hands on a MacBook until the end of September, so this is mostly wishful thinking :o . Anyway, am I too off-base? (I'm guessing not...).Don't worry. They will do it by Thanksgiving at the latest. Top speed will remain 2GHz. But battery life will be doubled. :p
Little doubt Apple buys their processors "Just-In-Time" so there is no stockpile of obsolete processors to deplete. Mini will get Core 2 as well by Thanksgiving.

the problem is that the ENTIRE pricing system is so unbelievably flawed.
Movie tickets are enormously overpriced considering that now they even have commercial advertisements and big brand endorsements (ad revenue should be shared with ticket purchasers to encourage us to come out)
DVDs start of so high priced until Best Buy undercuts everyone and steals sales, but that's another issue entirely...
My biggest gripe, however, is that Apple introduced the micropayment price point with music at a price we all thought was relatively fair. But why are they charging 1.99 universally for TV eps AND (here's the rub) short commercials, SNL skits, and Pixar shorts? $2 for a 45 second to 1 minute skit??!! You have to be kidding me Apple. They need some serious revisions to their video store.

I had no idea how cricket was played until this past week while in India. It seems that cricket is quite popular there, and was one of the few sports available in English on the tele, so I watched it. After a little while I was able to figure out the basics - overs, wickets, bowlers, etc. - as wells as how the scoring works.
What I find amazing is how long the matches (tests?) last. There was a news story about a growing trend - "3 hour cricket". Sounds good to me!
Turns out a guy I work with used to play cricket (he's from Jamaica) so he was giving me some more information about the game. It's pretty cool.

In the immortal words of "Tim the Enchanter"...GET ON WITH IT!!!!
Haha... that is too funny.
Everyone understand now why the iPhone 5 is a gigantic failure if LTE isn't included?
Data transfer rates = Whole Ballgame when it comes to cloud-based storage and access.
No?
Music doesn't need LTE to stream. It doesn't even need 3g.

She had every right to assume that he would not drive off, and presumably this was the intended result. That sounds like a pretty stupid assumption. I mean the guy left the house in a rage and got in the driver's seat of the car. Why would she expect he wouldn't drive off? Sounds like a very unreasonable assumption actually.
Once the car was moving, you have no idea if she had an opportunity to jump off. And you have no idea that she couldn't either. Although I'm pretty sure the car doesn't accelerate 0 to 60 in 4 seconds so she probably had a good chance of getting off.
Chances are, if she had he would have run her over and/or she would have been severely injured. In any case, do you think that we should all automatically back down when threatened?
Obviously you have never ridden on the hood of a car.

I'm in the same boat. I'm using a 3G with cracked screen and other issues. I originally wanted the white iPhone 4, but held out and decided to just wait until the 5. Now that the white 4 is definitely coming out and the 5 is possibly delayed I am thinking about grabbing the white 4. I will be really disappointed if the 5 ends up coming out in June/July though. It doesn't seem likely, but you never know. I figure I'll see what the latest rumors are at the time of the white launch - assuming there isn't anything pointing to a summer release of the 5, I'm just going to go for it.
Plus you can just sell the 4 on ebay or something, if the iPhone 5 comes out soon there after. It'll fetch the same price or a little less than the iPhone 5's non-contract price. So you can just buy a non-contract iPhone 5 and use that as the hardware on your current iPhone line. It's one way to get around renewing your contract for 2 more years and paying fees.

The bezel is what kept the weight and cost low and the battery life decent, while still allowing a full size keyboard with 2 USB connectors next to it. That's a trade-off I like.
A smaller bezel would have meant a thicker heavier or more fragile display, and more power suction from a bigger backlight, or a goofy-sized shrunken keyboard. No.
Are you just making this up as you go along? The lid on the 13" MBA is no thicker than the 11" AND it has thinner bezels. I also fail to see how thinner bezels would have any effect on the keyboard size or the number of USB ports.

All true, but this is just vested self-interest. All countries are in it for themselves.
Besides, the U.S. loves having an Israel in the Middle East.
Keeps the oil barons on their toes.
The oil barons don't need to be kept on their toes, most of them are already bought and paid for by the US. Those monarchs and dictators you see ruling countries like Saudi Arabia and Bahrain are all bought and paid for.

Yeah, fancy that, a nation that still believes in crime and punishment.
"Can't do the time? Don't do the crime".
I 100% agree!!! Criminal laws and processes are always correct and just!!!
1. If a law is passed criminalizing certain actions, thoughts or beliefs then there's no doubt that those actions, thoughts or beliefs are crimes.
2. The punishment for a crime is always correct. Punishments are never too extreme nor too lax. Whatever process that has determined the punishment for a particular crime cannot be questions. Because, well, you know: "Can't do the time? Don't do the crime."

I really hate reading posts from people who literally no concept of what it might be to be in another persons shoes especially in another culture and country. Your experience is nothing like their experience and making self righteous statements about what's right and wrong and what your job is like and how you keep secrets, do your job, blah blah, is just plain ignorant.I feel ya. It's a mad world...

There you have it...I use both Intel and PPC.. Don't knock PPC, its still a good machine for BASICS, and yes with the right codecs and HTML5, its now possible to view up to 720p on the G4 1.67 and even G5. 1080p is not possible though..
Am I reading that right? Your G5 can't view 1080? it plays fluid on my Dual 2.7. YouTube or Quicktime.
I have a Octo Mac Pro that I barely use and a hex core AMD, there's just something really special to my G5 that I've been using everyday since 2005. I keep it maintained, dust free (air dusters) monthly, also recently gave it a new Pioneer DVD-RW with labelflash. I may get another hard drive for it some day. Plenty of space as it is anyway. Western Digital blue 1TB and 500GB Samsung.
Though I really need to open the G5 cover and check to see what make the pump is.

Pfff.. there are plenty of beers brewed that fall into that category that are not British. Although, probably not the best of the best but the only two british beers I have had are Boddingtons Pub Ale (Which I love to death) and Old Speckled Hen Ale (which I also really like).I tried some of the Boddingtons Pub Ale when I was in Canada a few years ago, rather different from the version we have over here.
Today, August the 5th, is International Beer Day.What?! Why didn't we have the day off work or something?

I don't think they should add cut and paste because it's metaphorically confusing (and they never will add it for this reason), but a Path Finder-like drop stack (which is essentially the same thing, but with visual cues) would be very nice.
A Path Finder-like split view is would also be very handy for moving files.
The OS doesn't need built-in social media integration. There are plenty of twitter clients, and the official Facebook Notifications menu bar item is fine.

... I don't think it would be very useful. I would still need the full function of my regular keyboard while doing these other things...
Assuming this does come to fruition - I think you're missing the point. I don't believe for a moment it would be designed as a reasonable substitute for a full-size keyboard. I think it's for being able to lay down a few notes when working on some tracks on the road. Then come home and have a full-sized set up you can plug in to.
Think "in addition to" not "replacement for"...
