    If you will work for a Canadian Company within US, then you need a US work visa (H-1B for example). However, in this process you will not satisfy the residency requirements for your Canadian PR. Please note that you need to live in Canada for at least 2 out of 5 year period to maintain the PR.

    Actually, if you work for a Canadian company the time spent outside Canada will count as if you were in Canada. So, you will still be able to meet the 2/5 requirement. But you need to check what are the conditions, I know that you can't just create your own company and stay there for example. Check the requirements.

    On the US side, what visa will you be working on ? H1B ? If you like to stay in US, why not gained Canadian citizenship and work on TN, which is 3 years now (maybe more in the future) and very easy ?

    I have similar situation, got all my Receipts and got FP appointment. My H1 expired in 1st week of September. I would like to have H1 extended but, my employer and lawyer are saying "it is not possible now, and you will get your EAD dont worry".

    Is there any way that i can get my H1 extended

    Hi what kind of lawyer he is to say it is ok work after H1B expires with no EAD in hand. Technically you cannot work until you receive your EAD.

    Ask your employer to see if he will do an extension if you pay for the expenses.

    My view is immigration intent part will not impact much. Just it is giving more power to consulate. Consulate may reject some candidates who are not having strong job offers. It is similar to F1 visa. But nowadays F1 visa rejections are very less compared to past

    Could you please point out the section where it says dual intent for H1 will be removed ?

    I understand the 10-day rule, but when does the clock start?
    The date of lease starting or the date of actual move.....ideally these shouldnt be too far apart, but in my case they will be, hence the confusion.

    Otherthan waiting whatever time they take to verify education details, may be you should try to transfer the case to consulate in India (or) withdraw the application from Vancouver and apply fresh in India. This is a standard and well known "watch out" issue when any foregin national applies for visa in a country other than their home country. Although not everyone faced this problem.

    Sadly Immigration voice is giving importance to the � number of posts� rather than �number of valuable posts� .
    Some people are more interested to upgrade in their title by putting more number of comments, which will have no information.

    IV doest evaluate posts of members or give more or less importance to quantity or quality of posts.

    The software we use for forums (Joomla) is preconfigured to make a person "Senior member" when he/she posts 100 messages.

    IV core group or leadership doesnt have any interest in rating the quantity or quality of any posts from any members.

    I did it too and as long as you are with the same company doing the same job as you did when you originally started... GO FOR IT... BEC's are a big mess and they are here to stay... at least for another 2 years (this is just my prediction)

    I am with same company since I came (since 2000) and my current LC (RIR, EB3-India) pendng at PEBC, my PD is 06/16/03, I am about to file 8th H1 Ext, My Lawyer is not advising me to convert into PERM, can you suggest/refferer your lawyer?

    I am pretty sure $10,000 is limit while coming into USA. While going to India, the limit is much less, about Rs.12,000 or so (check with some Indian websites). I know, you need declare (for Tax purposes) if you carry more than this amount. I don’t know tax liability of this declarion. Also, the amount varies on the purpose and duration of abroad trip.
