The youngest of five children in a family of Jewish and Irish Catholic descent, Laura Prepon quit regular secondary school to join a specialized theater college when she was 15. By that time, she had decided that acting was her true calling. Besides working in plays, she also learnt ballet and other forms of dancing to improve her acting skills.

Laura Prepon
Armed with a not-yet-impressive resume, Prepon somewhat casually appeared for the That '70s Show audition in 1998 without any real expectation. To her utter surprise, she got the nod from the producers to play Donna Pinciotti, a big role on a FOX sitcom at the age of 18. She also made an impression by portraying the role of Hannah Daniels on ABC television’s October Road, which went on air on March 15, 2007. Before being chosen for That '70s Show, she had worked as a model in Paris, Milan, and Brazil.

The success in That '70s Show helped her bag small parts in lesser-known films such as The Best and Brightest and The Pornographer: A Love Story. Prepon also acted in Slackers, a comedy released in 2002. Her 2006 film Karla, based on the true story of Canadian serial killers Karla Homolka and Paul Bernardo caused a stir in that country.

She has been featured on the cover of Maxim magazine twice - once with her natural red hair and once with her hair dyed blonde. Prepon is living with boyfriend Christopher Masterson of Malcolm in the Middle whom she first dated in 2000. Her hobbies are horseback riding, gymnastics, ice skating, ballet, tennis, golf and playing the piano.

With so much trash on the small screen, Prepon really provided us some relief by making us laugh as Donna, the girl next door on That '70s Show. We owe it to her.
